Sue Young

Sue S. Young, 72, of Shalimar, Florida departed to Heaven on March 18th 2018. Sue was born in Louisa, Kentucky to Millard and Daphne Sammons in 1945. Sue was preceded in death, by her parents, late husband James and step daughter Xanthe. She is survived by her son, Andrew and family. The Young family traveled abroad and thorough out the United States due to Jim's career as an Officer in the United States Air Force. They resided for a short time in South Carolina before calling the Florida Panhandle their permanent home in 1984.

In addition to being a devoted daughter to Daphne, she was a supportive wife to Jim, and a proud Mom. Sue was a proud patriot and member of The Eastern Star, Daughters of the American Revolution, and many others. She took pride in showing her love of family, friends, and country. Sue was also a Licensed Cosmetologist and active in many of her organizations.
Sue kept in touch with many of her friends over the years and will be remembered for her love of communication. She loved the color pink and her cat Bradley.

Andrew would like to thank all those family and friends that have offered their condolences and heartwarming wishes. Andrew extends a special Thank You to Kathy for her love, devotion and support, to Theresa Hillman and family for all of the extra things that they have done for Sue and Andrew over the years and to Scott who was like a son to Sue and a brother to Andy.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Young will be Sunday, March 25, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Young Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, March 24, 2018 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM at the Young Funeral Home.
