Betty Joe (Blackburn) Evans

Betty Evans, 81, of Fort Gay, WV went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at Paramount Assisted Living in Ona, WV. Betty was born August 16, 1941 in Camp Creek, WV to the late Earl and Ermengarde (Copley) Blackburn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Clyde Evans; children Barbara McGinnis and Brian Keith Evans; and grandson Scott Peters. 

Betty was a member of First Baptist Church of Louisa and retired from Worthington School District in Columbus, OH. 

Survivors include her siblings Edith Earlene Evans of Louisa, KY, Charles Blackburn of Somerset, OH, and Nellie Ferguson of Huntington, WV; grandchildren Stephanie, Paul David, Jon, Matthew, and Steven (Kayle) and great grandchildren Kaleb, Jordan, Mason, Jasper, Gabriel, Carson and Nathan. 

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, April 10, 2023 at 1:00 PM in the Young Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Chuck Price officiating. Burial will follow in Webb Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Monday, April 10, 2023 from 12:00 PM until time of service in the Young Funeral Home Chapel.
