Gladys Messer

Gladys Messer, 78, of Crum, WV went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 13, 2023. Gladys was born October 9, 1945 in Crum, WV to the late Everett and Mae (Sammons) Dillon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the father of her children, Thurman Marcum; sons Flem Messer, Jr. and Thurman Marcum, Jr.; siblings Helen Dillon and Albert Dillon; and son-in-law Robert Gullion. 

Survivors include her children Johnny Messer, Betty Gullion, James Marcum, Carol (Dr. Samh Kalou) Kalou, and Mary Ann (Brad Robertson) Robertson; grandchildren Robert Gullion, Dylan Robertson, Ava Robertson, Evan Robertson, Zane Kalou and Sami Kalou; and siblings Freda Messer, Alice Spaulding, Sarah Ann Spaulding, Belle Dora Messer, and Carol Howard. 

The family would like to thank the staff of Madison Park for their loving care and dedication shown to Gladdy. 

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, October 16, 2023 at 3:00 PM in the Young Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Williamson Cemetery. Friends may visit the family Monday, October 16, 2023 from 1:00 PM until time of service in the Young Funeral Home Chapel.
