Joel Preston Thacker

Joel Preston Thacker, 70, of Louisa, KY passed on to his heavenly home Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at Three Rivers Medical Center. He was the son of the late Curt and Georgemary (Walters) Thacker and was born in Mt. Sterling, KY on May 10, 1952. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his brother Gayle Thacker and baby sister Anne Thacker; and his two special dogs Honda and Chauncey.

Left behind to cherish his memory is his loving wife Rachel Thacker; children J. P. (Jami) Thacker, Darren (Jackie) Damron, and Kevin Damron; grandchildren Lyndsay Damron, Ronnie Damron, Javin Damron, and Chelsey Damron; and two half-siblings Deed Preston Hall, of Lima, OH and Mary Wilkes, of Sarasota, FL. He also leaves behind a host of family and friends to mourn his passing. 

Joel was owner and operator of Wellman Hardware from 1989 until 2012. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Louisa.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, July 29, 2022 at 2:00 PM in the Young Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Chuck Price officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Friday, July 29, 2022 from 12:00 PM until time of service.
