Kermit G. Short, 86, of Scott Depot, WV went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 22, 2022. Kermit was born December 14, 1935 in Louisa, KY to the late Ray and Eva (Thompson) Short. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Mary Ruth Short and his sister Helen Damron. 

Kermit proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He was a pilot for many years and retired as the corporate pilot for Jackson Kelly Law Firm in Charleston, WV. Kermit was a member of Apperson Masonic Lodge #195 F.&A.M.

Survivors include his brothers Bill (Brenda) Short and Carl Short; sister Laura (Charles) Fyffe; many nieces and nephews; and special neighbors Sharon and Don. 

Friends may visit the family on Sunday, June 26, 2022 from Noon to 2:00 PM in the Young Funeral Home with Masonic Services conducted by Apperson Masonic Lodge members. The funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 2:00 PM for Graveside services at Short Cemetery with full military honors with Rev. Kyle Peak officiating.
