Luther Max “Bud” Copley, 87, of Louisa went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 13, 2021 at the Ashland Community Hospice House in Ashland, KY. He was born December 3, 1933 in Crum, WV to the late Rev. Henry Ballard and Veva Myrtle (Wallace) Copley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 15 brothers and sisters.
He united in marriage to Jermaine Marie “FiFi” (Voorhees) Copley who survives. Additional survivors include his children Michael Glenn (Joslyn) Copley, Luther Max Copley, Danny (Tammy) Copley and Tim Copley; grandchildren Madison, Max, Mia, Sara, Corey, and Cassie Copley; great granddaughter Emma Copley; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Mr. Copley proudly served his Country in the United States Navy. He was a lifelong member of the Thomas Copley Memorial Church in Crum, WV and attended the First United Methodist Church of Louisa. He was a member and singer of the Gospel Band “The Revelators.” He loved his family very much and enjoyed spending as much time as possible with them.
The family would like to thank Dr. Spencer Harris and the staff at Three Rivers Medical Center for the excellent care and compassion given to him and his family during his illness.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, August 23, 2021 at Noon at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Tammy Smith officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Northeast. Friends may visit the family on Sunday, August 22, 2021 from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the First United Methodist Church.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donation to Young Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
