Oretha Wellman Obituary

Oretha Maxine (Crabtree) Wellman, 89, of Fort Gay, entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at the St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, WV. She was born January 8, 1932 on Tabors Creek in Wayne County to the late Russel Elwood and Alice (Spears) Crabtree. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Jack Wellman, two brothers Edward Crabtree and Marcus Crabtree, and a grandson Stuart Wellman.

Mrs. Wellman was a faithful member and former Treasurer for many years at the Open Bible Tabernacle.

Survivors include her children Steven (Lisa)Wellman and Gary (Angie) Wellman; four grandchildren Jesse Wellman, Kailee Wellman, Alexander Wellman, and April Adkins; and five great-grandchildren Rylan Adkins, Abby Adkins, Rylee Adkins, Mia Endicott, and Cain Wellman; her special friend Betty Reed, along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be private. Burial will be in the Bartram Fort Gay Cemetery.

Young Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Mrs. Wellman and her family.
