Richard Jay Doss, Jr.

Richard "Dick" Jay Doss, Jr., 56 of Fort Gay, WV went to his forever home on April 4, 2022. He battled his illnesses until he could battle no more. He was loved and respected by so many people from different walks of life. 

Dick was preceded in death by his father Richard "Dickie" Jay Doss and his brother Timmy Doss. We all pray that he's enjoying his new life with Jesus, Dickie, Timmy, and of course, John Wayne. 

Survivors include his wife Jessica (Mills) Doss; his six children Charles and Vicki Doss of Huntington, WV, Austin Anderson and Elizabeth Haney of Fort Gay, WV, Paskell (Aly) Doss of Hurricane, WV, Emilee Rose Doss and Geoffrey Bowling of Vero Beach, FL, Amber Doss of Huntington, WV and Marissa Doss of Prichard, WV; and six grandchildren he loved with all of his heart: Landon Johnson, Lucas Johnson, Braiden Branam, Audreyanna Prater, Lillian Doss, and Willow Doss. 

He is also survived by his sweet mother Judy Carol Doss; brothers Mark (Danielle) Doss and Jeremy Doss and Morgan Holland; sister in law Dora Doss; his mother in law who helped with his daily; life long best friends Bryan (Machelle) Chaney, Franklin (Tammy) Waller, Leslie Mullins, and Shelton (Tracy) Meade; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and family which he adored. 

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, April 8, 2022 at 3:00 PM at the Young Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tony Perry officiating. Burial will follow in the Doss Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Friday, April 8, 2022 from 12:00 PM until time of service at the Young Funeral Home Chapel.
